Intraday trade
The intraday bill
Change the trade or the brokerage and the bill recalculates. The trade is invented; the rates are NSE’s.
How each line is worked
- STT: 0.025% of sell value.
- NSE transaction charge: ₹306.99 per crore, each side, on buy value plus sell value. NSE’s circular lists it as “Rs. 306.99 each side” for Cash Market, levied on trading members.
- SEBI turnover fee: ₹10 per crore of buy value plus sell value.
- Stamp duty: 0.003% of buy value, paid by the buyer.
- GST: 18% applied here to brokerage only, the “stock brokers services” line NSE lists; a contract note may apply it more widely.
An intraday trade is settled “otherwise than by the actual delivery”, so STT applies only to the sale, at 0.025% (on the volume weighted average price, which for a single-price trade is the trade price), and stamp duty on the purchase is 0.003%.
The rates, as published
Sale of an equity share in a company or a unit of an equity oriented fund or a unit of a business trust, where such contract is settled otherwise than by the actual delivery or transfer of such share or unit. | 0.025 per cent
Transfer of Security other than debenture on non-delivery basis | 0.003% | Buyer
0.0001 per cent of the price at which the securities are purchased or sold (Rs.10 per crore)
Stock brokers Services | 18.00% (GST) | Brokers and collected from their clients.
The above revision will be applicable with effect from March 1, 2026.
